IGB 5.4 release notes

IGB 5.4 is a significant new release that unifies QuickLoad, DAS/1, and DAS/2 interfaces and incorporates many bugfixes.

IGB 5.4 requires Java version 1.5 or higher.

QuickLoad, DAS/1, and DAS/2 servers are all accessed through the "Data Sources" preferences tab. These servers can be added through the "File->Preferences->Data Sources" tab.

Genome selection is now done via the combo boxes at the top of the Data Sources tab. Sequence selection is now done via the Sequence list on the right-hand side.

Full support of a genome view. By choosing the "genome" selection in the Sequence list, the user can see the entire genome of the target organism in a signle view.
Annotation Browser tab is turned on by default.
The DAS/2 "Name Search", "Annotation Browser", and "Pattern Search", will all be combined in a later release.
